These
types of projects also help our artists to learn how to communicate better
with an audience and further enable them to develop greater confidence alongside
new, transferable and enjoyable skills.
We aim to help young people across all cultures and backgrounds to come and
work together, experience and engage in the creative arts as a whole, have
fun and use their experiences as creative tools to further help them to develop
possible career paths, particularly in music.a stepping-stone into the music
industry".
One example is that of artists
'Co-exist' who
DJ-B
had met and worked with both as individuals on international youth exchanges
and community projects. The two artists later on got together to form their
own Hip Hop project under the direction of BigBoomProjects, they are now recording
their debut album and getting a great response to their work.
Co-exist
further perform at youth conferences, festivals and promotional events and
also run DJ-RAP workshops.
DJB adds:
"Being a DJ and music producer as well as an arts practitioner gives me a
wider perspective on the music industry, especially at the grass roots.it
is also hard when you first step into the world of music, there is a lot to
learn and understand, so being able to tap into a youth program that can offer
these types of opportunities with the added support and experience of professional
artists is definitely a good thing."
